FORM 4797 IS USED BY TAXPAYERS TO REPORT SALES, EXCHANGES OR INVOLUNTA CONVERSIONS OF ASSETS, OTHER THAN CAPITAL ASSETS, AND INVOLUNTARY CONVERSIONS OF CAPITAL ASSETS HELD MORE THAN ONE YEAR. IT IS ALSO USE TO COMPUTE ORDINARY INCOME FROM RECAPTURE. THE DATA ARE USED BY IRS T VERIFY THAT THE PROPER AMOUNT OF INCOME IS REPORTED OR THE PROPER AMOU OF LOSSES ARE DEDUCTED.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
