Abstract:
THE ANNUAL RETAIL TRADE SURVEY PROVIDES THE ONLY CONTINUING AUTHORITATIVE MEASURE OF ANNUAL SALES AND INDUSTRY. THE ANNUAL SALES AND END-OF-YEAR INVENTORY ESTIMATES ARE USED AS A BENCHMARK FO DEVELOPING MONTHLY RETAIL SALES AND INVENTORY ESTIMATES. THE SURVEY ALSO PROVIDES THE ONLY COMPLETE SAMPLE RESULTS PRODUCING METHOD OF INVENTORY VALUATION DATA.
