Abstract:
SECTION 4043 OF ERISA REQUIRES ALL PENSION PLANS UNDER TITLE IV TO FILE A NOTICE OF ALL REPORTABLE EVENTS WITH PBGC. THE INTENT OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS TO INFORM THE PBGC OF THE OCCURANCE OF CERTAIN EVENTS THAT MAY RESULT IN A PLAN TERMINATION, AND THAT MAY NECESSITATE MONITORING OF THE PLAN OR TERMINATION OF THE PLAN BY THE PBGC.
