Terms of Clearance: 15 U.S.C. 80a-30 authorizes the Commission to establish recordkeeping requirements for investment companies. The statute does not prescribe a specific retention period, however. Given the statute of limitation for actions commenced under this Act, the establishment of a permanent retention period appears excessive and the agency should reexamine the need for a period of this length and provide specific justification for its continued use.
