Terms of Clearance: OMB is approving this activity subject to the following conditions: 1. EPA shall provide the completed Triennial Plan review progress report on Groundwater Monitoring by April 1, 1983. 2. EPA shall provide a copy of the revised guidance manual, including the modifications to the statistical procedures under review, by July 31, 1983. 3. EPA shall brief OMB on review progress and on the content and revisions to the manual by August 31, 1983. 4. EPA shall provide OMB with a copy of the final technical report submitted by the contractor for data analysis. 5. EPA shall either propose a rule with modifications or include an explanation of why a rule is unnecessary by December 31, 1983. 6. OMB shall retain the option of requiring additional information and briefings as necessary to follow progress, and retain the option of requiring a section 3504(h) submission under the forthcoming rules to implement the Paperwork Reduction Act.

Abstract: UNDER THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND RECOVERY ACT, OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF LAND DISPOSAL FACILITIES MUST MONITOR GROUND WATER FOR POSSIBLE CONTAMINATION. THEY MUST MAINTAIN THESE RECORDS THROUGHOUT THE LIFE OF THE FACILITIES AND SUBMIT PERIODIC REPORTS TO EPA.
