Before requesting extension of this clearance, DOT must reexamine the burden estimate associated with it. Approval will not be extended unless the estimate is thoroughly documented, and evidence is presented on consultations with transit operators. UMTA has failed to meet OMB clearance procedures for the timely submission of this request. OMB expects requests to be submitted at least 45 days before the scheduled expiration date.
