Terms of Clearance:
The questions not used to enforce the functions of l8 USC as identifie on the draft form are to be deleted from the form as soon as possible and not later than March 30, l983. OMB sees no programmatic reason fo burdening the public with unnecessary questions until September l983 as proposed by ATF. The Department is to resubmit a request for approval by February l5,l983 showing the deletions to be made and shall also justify the retention of questions 14 and 15 on the current form unless the Department deletes them from the form proposed for use on and after April l, l983.

FORM IS USED BY PUBLIC WHEN APPLYING FOR A FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE. INFORMATION REQUESTED ON THE FORM HELPS ESTABLISH THE ELIGIBILITY FOR SUCH A LICENSE. THE FORM IS SIGNED UNDER THE PENALTY OF 18 U.S.C. 924. FORM IS USED IN APPLYING FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF FIREARMS; E.G., DEALER, IMPORTER, MANUFACTURER.
