THIS SURVEY IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF NATIONAL STATISTICS ON GRADUATE STUDENT AND POSTDOCTORATE SUPPORT AND CHARACTERISTICS OF FACULTY EMPLOYED IN GRADUATE SCIENCE/ENGINEERING (S/E) PROGRAMS. DATA ARE USED BY FEDERAL AGENCIES, STATE EDUCATION BOARDS, PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES, AND INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER ECUATION IN MONITORING S/E EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS AND IN PLANNING TO MEET FUTURE S/E PERSONNEL NEEDS.

The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
