Abstract:
49 CFR PART 218.30 REQUIRES THE OPERATOR OF "REMOTELY CONTROLLED SWITCHES" TO PERFORM SPECIFIC PROCEDURES WHEN PROVIDING "BLUE SIGNAL PROTECTION" FOR WORKMEN. THE RECORD KEEPING REQUIREMENT IS DESIGNED TO TO COMPLEMENT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR HANDLING OF REMOTELY CONTROLLED SWITCHES BY ENHANCING ATTENTION TO SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.
