DATA WILL BE COLLECTED FROM JUNE 27 TO JULY 15, 1983. THEY WILL BE US TO (1) DEVELOP A PROFILE OF INMATES, (2) DETERMINE TRENDS IN INMATE CHARACTERISTICS, (3) DETERMINE THE PROPORTION WHICH MIGHT BE MORE APPROPRIATELY HOUSED ELSEWHERE, (4) DEVELOP ALTERNATIVE METHODS FOR PROCESSING MINOR OFFENDERS AND OTHERS WHO DON'T NEED TO BE IN JAIL.
