Abstract:
SECTION 44B ALLOWS A TAX CREDIT TO EMPLOYERS HIRING INDIVIDUALS FROM TARGETED GROUPS, SUCH AS ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED VIETNAM-ERA VETERANS, GENERAL ASSISTANCE RECIPIENTS, ETC. THE EMPLOYER USES FORM 5884 TO FIGURE THE CREDIT. THIS FORM IS ALSO USED TO REPORT WIN CREDIT CARRYOVERS FROM PRIOR YEARS. IRS USES THE INFORMATION TO DETERMINE THE CREDIT'S VALIDITY.
