FEDERAL AVIATION ACT OF 1958, SECTION 607 (49 USC 1427) AUTHORIZES CERTIFICATION OF CIVILIAN AVIATION MECHANIC SCHOOLS. 14 CFR 147 PRESCRIBES REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION AND OPERATION OF AVIATION MECHANIC SCHOOLS. INFORMATION COLLECTED IS USED TO DETERMINE APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE.
