FORM IS NEEDED FOR TAXPAYERS TO CLAIM A DEDUCTION FOR DEPRECIATION AND/OR AMORTIZATION ON THEIR INCOME TAX RETURN. ALL INFORMATION REQUESTED IS USED TO DETERMINE WHETHER TAXPAYERS HAVE CALCULATED THEIR ACRS DEDUCTION CORRECTLY AND WHETHER A PROPER ELECTION HAS BEEN MADE UNDER SECTION 168.
