DRIVER'S DUTY STATUS RECORDS ARE REQUIRED BY 49 CFR 395.8. THEY ARE USED BY THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO DETERMINE MOTOR CARRIER COMPLIANCE STATUS AND DRIVER COMPLIANCE WITH THE MAXIMUM TIME LIMITATIONS REQUIRED BY 49 CFR 395.3 AND BY THE MOTOR CARRIERS TO CONTROL DRIVERS HOURS OF SERVICE.
