Abstract:
RULE 18F-1 PROVIDES A MEANS BY WHICH OPEN-END MANAGEMENT INVESTMENT COMPANIES THAT MAY REDEEM THEIR SECURITIES IN KIND CAN ELECT TO COMMIT TO MAKE LIMITED CASH REDEMPTIONS WITHOUT VIOLATING INVESTMENT COMPANY ACT SECTION 18(F)(1). THE RULE ALLOWS COMPLIANCE WITH STATE AND FOREIGN LAWS REQUIRING REDEMPTIONS IN CASH. REGISTERED INVESTMENT COMPANIES ARE AFFECTED.
