Abstract:
SECTIONS 507 AND 508 OF P.L.95-87 REQUIRES THE APPLICANT TO PRESENT ADEQUATE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE EXISTING PRE-MINING ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES WITHIN AND AROUND THE PROPOSED MINE PLAN AREA. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE APPLICANT CAN COMPLY WITH THE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS OF THE REGULATIONS AND WHETHER RECLAMATION OF THESE AREAS ARE FEASIBLE.
