THE EPA REQUIRES THAT PUBLIC UTILITIES FILE FOR APPROVAL OF DISPOSITION OF JURISDICTIONAL FACILITIES, MERGERS OF SUCH FACILITIES WITH OTHER PUBLIC UTILITIES. SUPPORTING DATA IS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE IF SUCH TRANSACTIONS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE PUBLIC INTEREST.
