TO SERVE THE NATIONAL INTEREST BY PROVIDING THE TIMBER INDUSTRIES AND THOSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE INDUSTRIES WITH CONTINUING COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENTS OF PRESENT AND ANTICIPATED USE DEMAND AND SUPPLY OF THE NATION'S RENEWABLE WOOD RESOURCES, SUCH AS TIMBER AND OTHER FOREST PRODUCTS, FROM THE NATION'S PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TIMBERLANDS.
