THE INFORMATION COLLECTED IS NEEDED SO THAT A SPOUSE MAY PROVI EVIDENCE RELATING TO CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE MARRIAGE. THE INFORMATION I USED BY SSA TO UPDATE RECORDS AS TO THE MARITAL STATUS OF AN INDIVIDUAL. THE AFFECTED PUBLIC IS COMPRISED OF PERSONS WHO APPLY FOR SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS.
