Abstract:
THE COAST GUARD WOULD USE THE RESULTS OF THE NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT) TO EVALUATE THE SUITABILITY OF OLDER PRESSURE VESSEL CARGO TANKS TO REMAIN IN SERVICE. 7 BARGE OWNERS PER YEAR WOULD BEREQUIRED TO SUBM NDT PROPOSALS AND RESULTS. ONCE EVERY 5 YEARS A PRESSURE VESSEL TYPE CARGO TANK ON A BARGE 25 YEARS OLD OR OLDER WOULD BE REQUIRED TO BE SUBJECTED TO NDT (THERE ARE 32 BARGES IN THIS AGE CATEGORY).
