Abstract:
SECTION 4081, AMENDED BY THE TAX REFORM ACT OF 1986 (ACT), IMPOSES TAX ON THE REMOVAL OR SALE OF GASOLINE BY REFINERS, IMPORTERS, TERMINAL OPERATORS, BLENDERS, AND COMPOUNDERS. THE ACT ALSO IMPOSES A FLOOR STOCKS TAX. THIS REGULATION FOLLOWS THE STATUTE BY REQUIRING THAT TAXPAYERS REGISTER, GIVE BOND, MAINTAIN APPLICABLE RECORDS, AND REPORT TAX LIABILITY.
