This information collection request is approved under the following conditions: 1) The changes in the food sufficiency questions and the addition of a monthly income question that were agreed to in the October 3,1988 meeting held in the OIRA Administrator, Jay Plager's office will be made and revised form will be submitted. 2) The resubmission of this request at the end of the 18 month clearance will include improved questions on income, program participation, and health care coverage to facilitate comparison with other national surveys.

Abstract:
THE NHANES III WILL BE CONDUCTED BETWEEN 1988-1994. RESPONDENTS TO THE NHANES II ARE INDIVIDUALS AND HOUSEHOLDS. RESPONDENTS ANSWER QUESTIONNAIRES AND RECEIVE A FREE PHYSICAL EXAMINATION. RESULTS WILL BE USED BY A WIDE VARIETY OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS TO ANALYZE AND DESCRIBE THE HEALTH STATUS OF THE UNITED STATES.
