Abstract:
THE IDE REGULATIONS ESTABLISH CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURES UNDER WHICH INVESTIGATIONS OF MEDICAL DEVICES INVOLVING HUMAN SUBJECTS MAY BE EXEMPT FROM CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS OF THE FD&C ACT. THE EXEMPTION PERMI THE INVESTIGATIONAL USE OF MEDICAL DEVICES TO DETERMINE THEIR SAFETY A EFFECTIVENESS.
