Approved for 30 days. The Department has failed to respond to OMB's inquiries regarding changes in the information collection requirements under the new rent increase budget worksheet and spreadsheet. Upon resubmission of this information collection for OMB review, the Department must specify the precise changes in information collection requirements that will result from the use of the new system and must provide a justification for these changes that will satisfy the requirements at 5 CFR 1320.4(b). Failure to provide this information will result in the disapproval of the new requirements. In addition, the Department's request to decrease the burden associated with the rent increase information collection is not granted. The new requirements appear to be more burdensome than the requirements being replaced.

OWNERS OF CERTAIN SUBSIDIZED, COOPERATIVE AND SECTION 202 PROJECTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THE BUDGET WORKSHEET AND, IN SOME CASES, TH SPREAD SHEET ANNUALLY WHEN REQUESTING AN ADJUSTMENT TO PROJECT RENTS. THE FORMS PROVIDE INFORMATION WHICH IS USED IN THE MIPS AUTOMATED APPLICATION FOR CALCULATING RENT INCREASES. THESE NEW FORMS REPLACE HUD FORM 92457B WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY USED FOR RENT INCREASE PROCESSING
