Abstract:
THE INFORMATION REQUIREMENT IS PURSUANT TO P.L. 95-87 WHICH MANDATES PROCEDURES FOR STATES AND INDIAN TRIBES TO REQUIRE APPRAISALS AND LIENS UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES ON PRIVATE PROPERTY THAT HAS BEEN RECLAIMED. THESE PROCEDURES ARE INTEND TO ENSURE THAT STATES AND INDIAN TRIBES HAVE SUFFICIENT CAPABILITY TO FILE LIENS SO THAT CERTAIN LANDOWNERS WILL NOT RECEIVE A WINDFALL FROM THE RECLAMATION.
