THE INFORMATION COLLECTED IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS BEING BUILT AND/OR SOLD. HOUSING STARTS AND SALES DATA, IN PARTICULAR, ARE IMPORTANT ECONOMIC INDICATORS USED BY BUSINESSES AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
