THE INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THESE FORMS IS USED BY THE SOCIAL SECURIT ADMINISTRATION (SSA) TO CORRECT ITS EMPLOYER WAGE RECORDS, SO THAT THE AMOUNTS REPORTED BY THE EMPLOYER TO SSA AGREE WITH THOSE REPORTED TO T INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. THE AFFECTED PUBLIC CONSISTS OF EMPLOYERS WHO HAVE MISSING OR DISCREPANT WAGE REPORTS.
