THIS SERIES COLLECTS DATA ON CAPITAL PUNISHMENT STATUTES, POPULATION UNDER A DEATH SENTENCE, AND EXECUTIONS IN STATE AND FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS. THE DATA ARE PUBLISHED ANNUALLY FOR USE BY BJS, DOJ, THE CONGRESS, THE MEDIA, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
