Abstract:
THIS COLLECTION IS TO PROVIDE MIDYEAR AND ADVANCE YEAREND MEASURES ON THE NUMBER OF PERSONS INCARCERATED AND THE DEGREE OF OVERCROWDING IN CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS. THIS DATA WILL FORM THE BASIS FOR HISTORICAL TREND ANALYSIS. RESPONDENTS ARE PERSONNEL IN THE CORRECTION DEPARTMENTS OF EACH STATE, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND THE U.S. BUREAU OF PRISONS.
