Abstract:
FORM 5713 AND ITS RELATED SCHEDULES A, B, AND C ARE USED BY PERSONS WHO HAVE OPERATIONS IN A "BOYCOTTING" COUNTRY. IF THAT PERSON COOPERATES OR PARTICIPATES IN THE BOYCOTT, HE OR SHE LOSES A PORTION OF THE FOREIGN TAX CREDIT, THE DEFERRAL OF INCOME UNDER SUBPART F, DISC BENEFITS, OR FSC BENEFITS. IRS USES FORM 5713 TO DETERMINE IF ANY OF THE ABOVE TAX BENEFITS SHOULD BE LOST THE INFORMATION IS ALSO USED AS THE BASIS OF A REPORT TO CONGRESS.
