THE NPRM PRESCRIBES THE MANNER IN WHICH AN ENTITY ELECTS TO BE TAXED AS A REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE INVESTMENT CONDUIT (REMIC AND THE PROCEDURES FOR FILING A FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN AS A REMIC. THE REMIC AND BROKERS ALSO FILE CERTAIN INFORMATION RETURNS REPORTING THE AMOUNT EARNED BY INVESTORS IN THE (REMIC).
