Abstract:
THE OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION IS PROPOSING TO AMEND ITS APPRAISAL RULE AND, AS A RESULT, WILL BE AMENDING A PORTION OF ITS GENERAL RECORDKEEPING PACKAGE. THE PROPOSAL WOULD RAISE THE THRESHOLD LEVEL A OR BELOW WHICH APPRAISALS ARE NOT REQUIRED. THIS CHANGE, ALONG WITH A REDUCTION IN THE SIZE OF THE THRIFT INDUSTRY WILL RESULT IN A REDUCED BURDEN.
