THE FAA ACT OF 1958, SECTION 607 (49 U.S.C. 1427), AUTHORIZES CERTIFICATION OF CIVIL AVIATION MECHANIC SCHOOLS. 14 CFR 147 PRESCRIB REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION AND OPERATION OF AVIATION MECHANIC SCHOOLS. INFORMATION COLLECTED IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE.
