Terms of Clearance:
Approved through December 1993 with revision of the instructions for Form W-2 to add the following sentence to the section headed "Calendar Year Basis," "Use Form W-2 for the current calendar year." IRS should report to OMB no later than April 30, 1993 concerning plans to standardize the location of the OMB control number on the for approved under control number 1545-0008. Reasons for locational choic other than the standard placement on the top and to the right on page one of a form should be given. If for technical reasons it is not feasible to place the number in the OMB specified location, the number should be placed at the bottom of a form and on the right. You may omit printing the expiraion date on these forms. Also, you ma you may continue to use previous versions of these forms.

EMPLOYERS REPORT INCOME AND WITHHOLDING INFORMATION ON FORM W-2. PAYERS REPORT PENSION, ANNUITY, RETIREMENT, AND IRA DISTRIBUTIONS ON FORM W-2P. FORMS W-2AS, W-2GU, W-2VI, AND W-2ONMI ARE THE U.S. POSSESSIONS VERSIONS OF FORM W-2. THE FORM W-3 SERIES IS USED TO TRANSMIT W-2S TO SSA. INDIVIDUALS USE FORM W-2 TO PREPARE THEIR INCOM TAX RETURN.
