FORM 4797 IS USED BY TAXPAYERS TO REPORT SALES, EXCHANGES OR INVOLUNTA CONVERSIONS OF ASSETS, OTHER THAN CAPITAL ASSETS, AND INVOLUNTARY CONVERSIONS OF CAPITAL ASSETS HELD MORE THAN ONE YEAR. IT IS ALSO USE TO COMPUTE ORDINARY INCOME FROM RECAPTURE AND THE RECAPTURE OF PRIOR YEAR SECTION 1231 LOSSES.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
