Terms of Clearance:
Approved through Sept. 1997 to allow for public comment on the information collection provisions contained in this regulation under the procedures of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. Given the burden imposed by this regulation, DOL will solicit comment on ways that the information collection provisions could be revised or implemented differently to reduce burden while still achieving the purposes of the rule. As required by the PRA 1995, DOL will include a summary of public comments received part of the record supporting its request for OMB clearance. Finally, it is approved with the understanding that OSHA will change the title from 'Generic Clearance - Supreme Court Decision Burden Hours' to 'Respiratory Protection' upon re-submission.

DOL is seeking to reinstate as burden hour adjustments those third-party disclosure paperwork burden hours for 22 information collection requests previously deleted as a result of the Supreme Court Decision, Dole v. Steelworkers which are now subject to OMB review and approval in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
