Terms of Clearance: Extended through March 1997 to provide time for the Department to ensure that the records retention requirement is adequately contained in regulations. To obtain further extension of this information collection beyond March 1997, the Department should ensure that regulations specify the required retention period for the records required by this collection, instructions specify the retention period, the Federal Register Notice notes the recordkeeping requirement, and the narrative statement discusses the time records are required to be maintained, and by whom.
