Abstract:
Sec. 209 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act gives the BLM authority to convey mineral interest owned by the U.S. where the surface is or will be in non-Federal ownership if there is no known mineral value in the land or reservation of the minerals is interfering with or precluding appropriate non-mineral development and non-mineral development is a more beneficial use.
