Approved; BLS will use ICW's submitted a minimum of three weeks prior to the planned start date of each project. In order to conserve space in the docket record for individual projects under this number, we have not repeated the general conditions of the review (1/29/91), which remain in effect. OMB will discuss with BLS the need to segregate review requests for focus groups, customer satisfaction surveys, and pretests in separate generic or stand alone clearances. BLS addendum of 12/19/96.

Abstract:
The proposed laboratory research will be conducted from FY 1997 through FY 1999 to enhance data quality in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' surveys. Improvements will be made by examining psychological and cognitive aspects of BLS's data collection procedures, including questionnaire design, interviewing procedures, and administration technology.
