Terms of Clearance:
Approval for this Information Collection will not become effective until the effective date of the Final Rule (Amend- ments to the Atlantic Tuna Fisheries Regulations at 50 CFR 630). This Information Collection will need to be resubmitted to OMB for review if the Final Rule contains any changes that substan- tively or materially alter the burden or nature of the Infor- mation Collection. OMB recommends that NOAA review the data obtained through this Information Collection one year after it becomes effective, and confirm the burden estimates provided in the Information Collection Request. In the event that the actual reporting burden differs from the predicted burden, OMB requests that NOAA submit a revised burden estimate for review.

Abstract:
Vessel owners would be required to directly report any harvest of Atlantic bluefin tuna which is not sold or otherwise reported through the commercial dealer reporting system. Each permit holder would report within 12 hours of landing by toll-free telephone call to an automated catch reporting system. An interactive voice response system would prompt the permit holder for size, class, and number of bluefin tuna harvested on the fishing trip. Since the necessary information on the permit holder has already been recorded via the automated permitting system, only the permit number is needed to activate the system.
