This information collection is approved for three years. In the next submittal, FERC should discuss what changes in the confidentiality of business information are appropriate to promote competition within the increasingly competitive wholesale market. In doing so, FERC should consult with EIA and RUS to provide as consistent a treatment as possible in the confidentiality of information across the wholesale market.

Abstract:
FERC form 1 is used by the Commission to implement the statutory provisions of the Federal Power Act (FPA) (16 U.S.C. 791a-825r). FERC form 1 provides annual financial data of public utilities. Under the FPA, FERC may prescribe a system of accounts for jurisdicational companies, determining the accounts to be maintained.
