Abstract:
This regulation requires motor vehicle manufacturers to retain one copy of complaints, reports, and other records of malfunction that may be related to motor vehicle safety for a period of 5 years from the data that were generated or acquired by the manufacturer. These records may be used to investigate possible defects or noncompliances.
