Abstract:
NIOSH is mandated by the OSHAct to approve courses for training technicians in pulmonary function testing. Successful completion of a NIOSH-approved training course is mandatory for technicians performing lung function tests on workers in the cotton dust industry. To carry out its statutory and regulatory responsibilities, NIOSH maintains a Pulmonary Function Testing Course Approval Program.
