Approved consistent with internet version of form attached and INS memo of 3-16-99. As per INS memo, the I485A is no longer being used and thus approval to use it is no longer granted as part of this action. The I-485 is approved for one year pending completion of the public charge rulemaking. When this collection is resubmitted, INS will include the revision to part 2 discussed in their memo or explain the decision not to do so.

Abstract:
This information will be used to request and determine eligibility for adjustment of permanent residence status. This application allows an applicant to determine whether he or she must file under section 245 of the INA, and it allows the Service to collect information needed for reports to be made to different Government committees.
