Terms of Clearance:
Approved consistent with and as amended by ED's memos to OMB of 3/19/99 and 3/26/99. In addition, the following terms apply: 1) the remuneration strategy proposed by ED is approved only for the purposes of the field test. Prior to implementing the full scale, ED will report on its results with respect to this remuneration strategy for OMB consideration and review. 2) OMB is approving the follow-up race/ ethnicity question consistent with the language used in ED's memo of 3/26. 3) The data obtained by ED as result of this race/ethnicity follow-up may be used for the purpose of research on transitioning from the old race/ethnicity categories to the new categories. When available, ED will report the results of these efforts to OMB. However, data for the follow-up question will not be used for longitudinal analysis of trends in post-secondary student aid (i.e., the general research purpose of the information collection), and where NPSAS 2000 is the base year. In this situation, only the standard new categories will be used for analysis.
