Terms of Clearance:
Approved consistent with clarifications in DOL memos of 8-2-99, 8-12-99, and 8-17-99. In any evaluations of FMLA regulations undertaken between now and the next submission of this collection DOL will investigate the monetary costs of compliance associated with the information collection provisions of the regulations. The results of any analysis will be reported in the next submission.

Abstract:
The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) requires private sector employers of 50 or more employees and public agencies to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to "eligible" employees for certain family and medical reasons. Records are required so that the Department of Labor can determine employer compliance with FMLA.
