Approved as amended by and consistent with ED's memo to OMB of 7/18/99. In addition, ED will submit to OMB, prior to the implementation of the 2001-2002 PSS, the strategy for implementing an electronic reporting option for respondents. Abstract:
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) collects information on private schools, both religious-affiliated and independent, every 2 years, in order to maintain a universe frame of private schools that is of sufficient accuracy and completeness to serve as a sampling frame of NCES surveys of private schools and to generate biennial data on the total number of private schools, teachers, and students.
