Abstract:
In accordance with Section 4(d) of the Endangered Species Act, NOAA proposes regulations that would prohibit "take" of threat- ened salmonids and also proposes to modify "take" prohibitions already in place. The proposed regulations identify 10 pro- grams or circumstances in which the "take" prohibitions would not apply. States, local governments, other entities may submit information to demonstrate that a program qualifies to be within thos specified programs or circumstances and that therefore would not be subject to the prohibitions.
