Terms of Clearance:
This collection is approved for three years. OMB encourages EPA to work with USDA, grower organizations, and State agricultural agencies in order to facilitate collection of this information in a way that minimizes the burden on responding entities. OMB notes that the primary purpose of this collection will be achieved with the U.S. submission to the Ozone Secretariat in January 2003. Nevertheless, OMB has approved this collection until May 2005 to facilitate subsequent applications by U.S. growers. Notwithstanding the three-year approval, EPA should review the application during 2003 in light of its experience with the Ozone Secretariat and make any changes to the application that would reduce burden. EPA may also wish to submit a change worksheet in 2003 to modify the burden estimate to reflect the annual burden that is expected for the collection between 2003 and 2005.

Abstract:
With this informtion Collection Request (ICR), EPA's Office of Air and Radiation and Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances are preparing to request applications for critical use exemptions from the phaseout of methyl bromide under the Clean Air Act (CAA). An upcoming notice in the Federal Register will invite applications requesting critical use exemptions.
