Terms of Clearance: Points of clarification from NARA. This collection applies to new libraries that are being built to be turned over to NARA and add itions to existing Presidential libraries that NARA operates. Amendments made in 1986 to 44 U.S.C 2112, which added endowment requirements apply to any Presidential archivial dispository for Presidents sworn in after January 20, 1985, which establishes this as the precedent for future Presidential libraries. Because NARA does not have oversight for Presidential libraries before President Hoover, this information collection does not apply to libraries created for Presidents who served before President Hoover.
